Visa information changes frequently, so we encourage you to verify this information on the embassy website.

Schengen Zone

As a rule, you need visa to enter Poland as a student. Poland is a part of the Schengen zone, so with a Polish visa you can travel all around Europe.

For studying in Poland, you should apply for a Polish visa type “D”. Visa type “D”—a long-term national visa issued up to one year allowing travel around the Schengen area for up to 90 day in a 180 days period.

Step by step

  1. Find a Polish consulate that can process you application.
  2. Read carefully all information about visa application on the consulate website and follow all the instructions.
  3. Set a visa appointment with the consulate. In most cases you should register through the website/
  4. Prepare all necessary documents:
  • filled application form;
  • copy of travel document (passport);
  • 2 photos;
  • health insurance;
  • documents confirming the purpose of your stay (Confirmation of Study Letter).

Pay attention! The specifics of the required documentation may vary among consulates, so confirm them with the consulate’s website.

  1. Submit all the documents including filled application form and the visa fee.

You visa application is complete. It can take 7-20 days for it to be reviewed, so you should apply for visa beforehand in order to come to Poland in time.

Visa from India

LIST OF DOCUMENTS TO BE PRESENTED BY VISA APPLICANTS
a. the application form filled in online at www.e-konsulat.gov.pl in Polish or English language, printed out and signed by the applicant
b. original passport/travel document with copies of the first/last/observation/correction pages

Please note:
• travel document should contain at least two blank pages;
• the validity of the travel document should extend at least 3 months after the intended date of departure from Schengen area;
• travel document should have been issued within the previous 10 years;
• in addition, as informed by the Indian Authorities, the Schengen states’ consulates do not accept:
(1) handwritten or not machine readable Indian passports issued after 01/04/2010;
(2) Indian passports that contain a manual entry (observation) made after 01/04/2010 if the biographical data (biodata) of the passport holder were changed.
c. One (1) photograph (Dimensions -3.5 cm x 4.5 cm) in accordance with the standards .
Please note:
• improper photographs will not be accepted.
d. proof of possession of adequate and valid travel medical insurance
Please note:
• the insurance should cover the entire period of intended stay and be valid for all Schengen States as well as cover any expenses which might arise in connection with repatriation for medical reasons, urgency medical attention, emergency hospital treatment or death during your stay (minimum coverage EUR 30 000);
• applications for employment visas
• the insurance should cover first three (3) months of the intended stay (starting from the date of travel).
e. Supporting documents:
1.Proof of means of transport:
Flight reservation of return or round ticket. If applicant is travelling to several Schengen States, domestic flight reservation, train itinerary or proof of car rental. If the intended stay in Poland exceeds 6 months, flight reservation of one-way ticket will also be accepted.
Please note:
• The Consular Division of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland accepts ticket reservations –there is no need to purchase the ticket before the visa is issued.
2. Proof of lodging:
Hotel reservations, rental of holiday home, campus residence reservation. If applicant stays with family member or friend, proof of private accommodation (official invitation) from the host. If applicant is travelling to several Schengen States, proof of lodging in each of them.
3.Proof of financial means
Original private bank account statement showing the turnover during the last three months, duly stamped and signed by the bank;
Indian income tax return acknowledgment for the last two assessment years;
Foreigner traveling to Poland for the purpose of higher education or taking part in research must prove the possession of:
• 800 PLN for each month of intended stay (maximum 12 months), and
• 2500 PLN for the return ticket (if ticket has not been purchased), if travelling with dependents:
• 450 PLN for each month of intended stay of each dependent.
Example:
An applicant going for the purpose of studying to Poland and applying for 1 year national visa should
prove the possession of 12 100 PLN (12*800+2500) or equivalent in other currencies (in addition to
the university or college fee).
4.If the applicant is a minor:
• If the minor travels with one parent only, written consent of the other parent or guardian, except in cases of a parent having the care or custody alone;
• If the minor travels alone (without parents), written consent of both parents or guardians having the care and custody of the applicant;
• Copies of the passport of the parents. If not applicable, birth certificate of the applicant and copies of the ID cards of the parents.
5. Additional documents:
Journeys undertaken for the purpose of study, research, or other types of internship
• Certificate of admission or registration at an educational establishment for the purpose of
attending academic or vocational courses, or cover letter from the inviting company;
• Student cards or certificates of the current enrolled institute;
• Copies of educational certificates and bio-data;
• Proof (copy) that the educational establishment has the right to grant the academic title for the particular program offered to the candidate (Bachelor, Master, Doctor of Philosophy, etc… with the certificate number and the name of the faculty/program in Polish and in English) given by the Ministry of Science and Higher
Education in Poland;
• If the study, training or research programme is to be paid for by the applicant:
a. the receipt confirming that the fee for the whole programme was paid (in case of studies longer than 1 year the payment has to cover the first year of studies) or
b. the proof of financial means in the amount necessary to cover the cost of the programme as mentioned in the certificate of admission.

FROM THE 19th OF APRIL 2018 VISA FEE IS 4900 INR

The Consular Department of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in New Delhi accepts visa applications of the citizens residing in Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Bhutan, The Maldives, Nepal and the following states of India: Himachal Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Jammu-Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan, Bihar, Chattisgarh, Jarkhand, West Bengal, Odisha, Sikkim, Asam, Tripura, Mizoram, Arunacal Pradesh, Nagaland, Meghalaya, Manipur and stateless persons.

Visa from Turkey

Documents requested at the visa application:
1. Application form completely filled (in Polish, English or Turkish) and signed by the applicant.
2. Two biometric photos (no more than 6-months old, 35–40mm in width, close up of your head and top of your shoulders so that your face takes up 70–80% of the photograph, in sharp focus and clear, of high quality with no ink marks or creases, show you looking directly at the camera, show your skin tones naturally, have appropriate brightness and contrast, be printed on high quality paper and at high resolution, show your eyes open and clearly visible – no hair across your eyes, show you facing square on to the camera, not looking over one shoulder (portrait style) or tilted, showing both edges of your face clearly, be taken with a plain light-coloured background).
3. Original passport issued within the previous 10 years and valid at least 3 months beyond the end of the intended visit, that must contain 2 blank pages to ensure that there is space to affix entry/exit stamps for visa holder.
4. Any other international passports must be attached to the application (the original and a photocopy).
5. Documents confirming the purpose and conditions of the planned stay in Poland.
For undergraduate / master’s or doctoral degree courses:
– the original document authorizing to study in Turkey,
– certificate of enrolment issued by a Polish university (including the current year and semester),
– confirmation of payment of the tuition fees,
– documents certifying financial capability to cover the costs of stay in Poland.
6. Proof of sufficient financial means available to the applicant to cover the travel costs can be provided in the form of: a bank account statement for the last 3-6 months, signed traveler cheques, credit cards (letter from a bank confirming that the credit card account has funds), an employment certificate confirming the position and salary during the last 6 months, an invitation (the original and photocopy).
Foreigner traveling to Poland for the purpose of higher education or taking part in research must prove the possession of:
– 800 PLN for each month of intended stay (maximum 12 months), and
– 2500 PLN for the return ticket (if ticket has not been purchased), if travelling with dependents:
– 450 PLN for each month of intended stay of each dependent.
Example:

7. Proof of adequate travel medical insurance covering the entire period of intended stay, valid for all Schengen States and covering any expenses which might arise in connection with repatriation for medical reasons, urgency medical attention, emergency hospital treatment or death during the stay. The minimum coverage must be 30.000 EUR.
8. If the applicant is a minor and travels alone or with one parent, a consent of the other parent or guardian is required (the original and photocopy), in cases where such consent is impossible to obtain – documents explaining the reason for the lack thereof (a statement certifying their single parent status or other documents). Birth certificate (the original and photocopy). A copy of parents’ or the guardian’s passports and a copy of valid visas in the case of joint journey.

Applications shall be decided on within 15 calendar days of the date of the lodging of an application.

NATIONAL VISA D: STUDY, EDUCATION, RESEARCH
Required documents list
1 Application form completely and legibly filled in, and signed by the applicant.

Visa from Ukraine

National Visa (D type / long stay)
If you are planning a longer stay in Poland (more than 90 days in 180), you need to apply for a long term visa. The long term visas applications can be submitted at the Visa Application Centre or at the Consulate General of Poland in Ukraine. In order to submit the visa application at the Visa Application Centre, please Schedule an appointment online or via Call Centre.
Documents Required
1. Visa application form filled with Latin letters (in Polish, English languages or Ukrainian in transliteration) and signed by the applicant himself. Visa application for minor is submitted and signed by one of the parents or legal guardian. Separate application should be also provided in case of applying for children endorsed in parent’s or legal guardian’s passport, where separate visa will be issued.
2. One photograph in colour meeting requirements.
3. Original and copies of international passport which meats the following requirements:
– signed by the applicant himself and valid for at least three months after the last intended date of departure from the territory of the EU-Member States;
– contains at least two blank pages (for a visa) and has been issued within the previous 10 years. In case of indorsed child – 2 additional blank pages are required for child’s visa.
– If you possess other international passports, it should be accompanied to the application (both original and copies). In case the previous passports were surrendered there should be a stamp in internal passport or the corresponding statement from OVIR.
– Prolonged/ damaged or old passports will not be accepted.
– Please also attach copies of the passport’s first page, previous Schengen visas issued during last 3 years, of the last National visa and copies of all pages with stamps of entry/exit for those visas.
4. Internal passport original and copy of all the pages with notes or ID card with a statement from the demographic register (original and copy).
5. Medical insurance – original and copy , which meets to the following criteria:
– €30000 coverage valid in all EC countries with maximum deductible not more than €150.
– Medical insurance should be typed only.
– all applicants’ data in the policy should be correct: Name, Surname, full address, passport’s number and date of birth.
– Medical policy should cover all days of intended stay
– medical insurance has to be provided with original and copy of payment receipt containing Name and Surname of an applicant or policy number.
– only an adult can be Insurer. In case of applying for minors only parents/legal guardians can be mentioned as Insurers.
6. In case an applicant is a minor (below 18 years old) following documents are required:
– birth certificate, (both documents in original and copy)
– copies of internal / international passports of parents / legal guardian
– invitation/reservation from the hotel should contain details of all travellers including minor child
– notarized written consent form the parent/parents/legal guardian (even in case travelling together) which include the following information: territory of validation (Poland and other Schengen countries), strict dates of notarized agreements’ validation (dd/mm/yy). In case if minor is travelling with the third person, his/her details should be mentioned in the consent form and his/her valid visa and copy of the passport should be provided
– when applying for a visa for a minor who is indorsed into a passport of a parent / legal guardian, notarized written consent form from that parent is not required. Please note that in this case documents can be submitted only by the parent/legal guardian to who’s passport the child is indorsed
– if there is only one guardian, it is required to provide the judgment of sole custody, death certificate or other proving official document
7. Documents that confirm the main purpose of travel:
– Written request or certificate of enrolment made by a Polish university in original version and student card.
– confirmation of payment of the tuition fees (for the first semester)
As a rule, the documents mentioned above are sufficient to issue a visa, however, during the examination of the application consul may in justified cases call the applicant for an interview and request additional documents (Article 21, paragraph 8 of the Community Visa Code of EU).

Visa Fees
Entry long-term national visa (CITIZENS OF UKRAINE) – 0 euros
Visa Application Center Service Fee – 15 € / 460 UAH
Regardless the visa application decision Visa fee is non-refundable due to the fact that the visa fee is paid for application processing irrespective of the decision made.

Processing Time
Processing time for the visa application is approximately 6 working days not including day of submission at VFS. In case and additional processing of the documents is required the visa processing time could be extended up to 30 days.

Visa from Belarus

1. A Filled and Signed Visa Application Form;
2. Colour photograph 3.5×4.5 as per the requirements;
3. Passport issued within the last 10 years that will be valid not less than 3 months after the planned date of return from the Schengen Zone. The passport has to have at least 2 empty pages dedicated to Visas;
4. 2 (two) copies of the passport pages containing the personal information;
5. A travel insurance policy, valid across ALL Schengen countries during the whole period of stay of a foreign citizen on the territory of Poland with an insurance premium of not less than 30 000 Euro. Requirements for health insurance may differ depending on the purpose of visit and below are indicated with*;
6. One of the below documents, proving sufficient funds during the stay in the Schengen Countries:
• A bank statement showing the current account balance;
• A valid Credit Card with a receipt showing available funds;
• A letter from the Employer, showing the salary received during the past 3 months
• A certificate showing the pension/unemployment benefit amount or Pensioner/Disability certificate
Foreigner traveling to Poland for the purpose of higher education or taking part in research must prove the possession of:
• 800 PLN for each month of intended stay (maximum 12 months), and
• 2500 PLN for the return ticket (if ticket has not been purchased), if travelling with dependents:
• 450 PLN for each month of intended stay of each dependent.
Example:
An applicant going for the purpose of studying to Poland and applying for 1 year national visa should
prove the possession of 12 100 PLN (12*800+2500) or equivalent in other currencies (in addition to
the university or college fee).
7. A Belarus Republic residence permit (For foreign citizens, residing in Belarus)
GETTING OF HIGHER EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION AND EDUCATION OF OTHER FORMS WHICH WERE NOT CONSIDERED IN A LAW “FOREIGN CITIZENS” 12 DECEMBER 2013 IN ARTICLE 60 PART 1 POINTS 9 AND 10.
8. University enrolment certificate original or a document that certifies the student status;
9. Confirmation of payment of the tuition fees
10. Courses learning/participation certificate (in case of participation in courses that can be a basis for applying for a national VISA, please provide a certificate that you were included in the list of students which was made by the educational establishment. Also, it must contain a detailed information about the quantity of classes and days of study. In case of paid courses – payment certificate);
List of documents to be provided by Minor Applicants:
1. A notary consent from a parent who has not signed the application form, since the presence of signature of only one parent is enough (it means that presence of signatures from both parents is not an exempt from providing the notary consent);
2. A birth Certificate (original and copy)
3. A notarized consent for minor travelling abroad from a parent/legal guardian who has not signed the application form (original and copy). In case both parents/legal guardians are present during the submission of a minor’s visa application form, a notarized consent is not required. 4. If a minor is travelling alone without parents/legal guardians (for example, as a member of a school group) – a notarized consent from both parents/legal guardians allowing the minor to leave Belarus. If a minor applicant has only one parent/legal guardian, then a respective document is to be provided (court statement establishing the parent to be the single guardian, certificate of death or other document)
5. For minors travelling with parents/legal guardians copies of parents’/legal guardians’ valid visas should be provided

VISA fees
Visa fees for citizens of Belarus , Ukraine — 0 €
VFS service charge: Apart from the visa fee, VFS service charge in BYR of the equivalent of 15 Euros according to the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus exchange inclusive of VAT per application will be levied for applicants applying at the visa application center.
